During the month of June we recognize the incredible value of older adults who are part of the vibrant fabric of our community. June is Seniors' Month and it is also an opportunity to be a part of the Great Canadian Giving Challenge!
Every year Seniors' Community Services must fundraise over $42,000 to bridge the gap in grants and government funding. This is no small feat, and we are supported by individuals and businesses who know the value of offering support to hundreds of seniors who live independently at home.
From June 1st to June 30th, every dollar donated through Canada Helps will put SCS in the running to win $20,000! If ever there is a time to consider a gift of support this is a perfect time.
To donate to SCS please follow our donation link for a safe and easy way to donate directly to our services and programs. Thank you for being a big part in ensuring our seniors continue to have access to all the benefits SCS has provided for 41 years. With increased demands and costs, your support will have a remarkable impact!

On Sunday, June 5th join Seniors' Community Services and Jill Woodley Photography for a fundraiser in Curry Park in support of the SCS Transportation Service.
This is a perfect opportunity to gather your family and friends for a photoshoot with a professional photographer. A great chance to get a headshot, capture a special celebration (grad, prom, anniversary, engagement), or catch up on those photos you've missed over the last two years.
The cost is $75 for eight professionally edited photographs, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to SCS.
Last year was a sell-out and spaces are limited.

A third-party event is one that is organized by an individual, affiliated group or organization, for
the purpose of raising funds for — or on behalf of — a chosen charity with that charity’s approval.
At Seniors’ Community Services we benefit from third-party events for:
The following guidelines will help you with your efforts in being a Seniors’ Community Services champion.

Seniors’ Community Services can provide our logo in a .jpg or .eps format to the event organizer. Our logo and branding are of upmost importance to our visibility within the community and beyond, and we ask that our logo not be altered for your marketing purposes.
We sure do! In 2021 Heritage Stables raised money at an in-house horse show that not only provided us with support directed to our Meals on Wheels service, but provided us an opportunity to introduce our work to many new folks. A Holiday Tourtière sale by a local chef has become a highly anticipated yearly event and a sell-out! A birthday fundraiser challenged friends and family to give, and we welcomed new donors to SCS. There is no limit to the creativity, and giving and ALL funds generated by third-party events go directly to programming and services.

For over 20 years now I've been assisting this organization, right here in my community in much needed, much appreciated and very meaningful volunteering! It brings me a lot of joy, friendship, community connection and personal satisfaction. And there's nothing like helping others to distract you from your own challenges! I highly recommend it to everyone!

I really love volunteering at SCS. Dawn, Carol and Jennifer are so much fun to work with; always so positive and friendly. I also love that the atmosphere is very cooperative and I feel I am a part of a team working in a caring manner to help seniors in the area
