Calling all our beloved Kemptville senior citizens! Winter is just around the corner and, as much as we don’t want to think about it, we want you to feel prepared, confident, and ready to brave the weather! This November 6th we are hosting a Winter Driving and Roundabouts Information Presentation and Q&A session for our seniors’ community.
The talk will be hosted at the Grenville Mutual Insurance Community Room from 10:00–11:45am and will include light beverages, snacks, and valuable information.
Not only will the presentation include information to get you ready for winter, but we will also talk about all these new roundabouts in Kemptville—how they work, what the point of them is, and how to safely navigate them. We often have seniors come into our center asking why they have been added and why you can’t turn left. These are important questions and concerns, and we want to provide as much help for seniors as possible.
We’ve all been in situations when we are on the road and the conditions aren’t what we expected. Icy roads, reduced visibility, and unpredictable weather can make winter driving stressful. Let’s work together to ensure we are all ready to take on whatever winter throws at us!
Aside from winter driving, there has recently been lots of new construction in Kemptville. With the addition of many new roundabouts, we understand the difficulties not only construction, but new roadworks can cause. Roundabouts are becoming increasingly popular because they improve traffic flow. Unlike stoplights that cause traffic to abruptly stop, roundabouts keep traffic moving steadily, which reduces congestion and delays.
Additionally, roundabouts can reduce serious collisions. Due to their circular nature, roundabouts ensure vehicles travel at slower speeds and reduce head-on collisions.
Come find out more about roundabouts and how to drive safely through them at our presentation hosted by the Ministry of Transportation.

Get ready, Kemptville — trivia is getting a major remix this fall! On Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025 6:00- 9:00pm, join Seniors’ Community Services (SCS) and Kemptville Brewing Co for a high-energy evening of Music Trivia, prizes, and community spirit.
This isn’t your average trivia night. We’re turning up the volume with live music elements woven into the classic trivia format you love. You can expect a mix of standard categories — from general knowledge to science, sports, and history — but with a special focus on musical challenges that will have you humming, tapping, and maybe even singing along.
While you’re showing off your brainpower, you’ll also be helping to make a real impact. Proceeds from the event will support Seniors’ Community Services, a local charitable non-profit dedicated to helping seniors and adults with physical disabilities live independently. Your participation helps us fund essential programs like transportation, meals, home support, and social activities that keep our community connected and thriving.
Grab your friends, form a team, and come early to enjoy Kemptville Brewing Co’s craft drinks and delicious menu before the trivia begins.
Tickets are limited, so don’t wait! Purchase yours by calling Seniors’ Community Services at 613-258-3203 or emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
